Cryotherapy

Full Body Cryotherapy is a treatment that involves exposing the body to extremely cold temperatures, typically around minus 110 degrees centigrade, for a short period of time. This can promote healing and reduce inflammation by triggering the body’s natural response to cold stress.

What is Cryotherapy Chamber?

Cryotherapy is a general term that refers to treatment using cold temperatures. It’s also known as cold therapy. Treatment will involve exposing you to extremely cold dry air (below −110 °C) for a few minutes.

A Cryotherapy Chamber is used to help relieve muscle pain, sprains and swelling. This is particularly useful after soft tissue damage or surgery. For decades, Cryotherapy has been commonly used to accelerate recovery in athletes post exercise.

This treatment decreases the temperature of tissue surface to minimize hypoxic cell death, edema accumulation, and muscle spasms, all of which ultimately alleviate discomfort and inflammation

In doing our research, we’ve found the majority of cryotherapy machines use nitrogen, which has been proven by many professionals to be less safe than electric versions. This is why our Cryo Chamber is a superior electric version, as it is much safer and more efficient.

What are the potential benefits?

Cryotherapy refers to the use of low temperatures to treat various conditions. Cryotherapy chambers, also known as cryosaunas or whole-body cryotherapy chambers, are specialised machines that expose the body to extremely low temperatures for a short period of time.

Some potential benefits of cryotherapy include:

  • Pain relief: Cryotherapy can help reduce pain and inflammation in the body. It may be especially useful for treating conditions like arthritis, fibromyalgia, and muscle strains.
  • Improved muscle recovery: Athletes and fitness enthusiasts may use cryotherapy to help speed up muscle recovery after intense workouts.

  • Boosted immune system: There is some evidence that cryotherapy can boost the immune system, helping to fight off infections and diseases.
  • Reduced anxiety and depression: Some people find that cryotherapy helps to reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression.

HOW DOES a Cryotherapy chamber WORK??

The person being treated enters a chamber that surrounds the body with a gas, typically nitrogen, which lowers the temperature. The temperature inside the chamber can range from -110°C to -140°C. The individual will spend between one and three minutes in the chamber, and while inside, their skin temperature will drop to about 10°C.

The sudden drop in temperature activates the body’s natural healing mechanisms, including increased blood flow and the release of endorphins. This can help reduce inflammation and pain, increase energy levels, and promote an overall sense of well-being.

It’s worth noting that while there are potential benefits to cryotherapy, it is not without risks. People with certain health conditions, such as heart disease, high blood pressure, or Raynaud’s syndrome, should avoid cryotherapy. It’s important to consult a healthcare professional before trying cryotherapy, especially if you have any underlying health issues.
